Viewbug interviews Chris Van Loan Photo in the article Surrealist Perspectives of Chris Van Loan.
Viewbug editors offer insight to my perspectives on the outdoors and photography. The majority of my photographic work isn’t from staged or planned photo shoots, but letting moments to shoot happen organically while exploring. I have some famous landmarks in my gallery, but am typically not interested in going to places for the sake of landscape photography. Images of places like Petra, and Double Arch in Utah made me want to explore, not become a photographer initially. It was years of remote and intensive solo travel in the wild and experiencing subjects of great beauty that I decided to finally purchase a DSLR camera for my own personal use and to help promote my company Bay Area Expeditions at the time.
