Rob from Down Range Training, and Chris Van Loan explain the basics of leg splinting. Techniques with SAM splints and cravats are explained, as well as improvised material splints. This video is for information purposes only and I encourage everyone to get wilderness medicine training and certification.
While improvised material splints are possible if the right materials and tools are present, a way better option is being prepared with the proper training and supplies. ‘Sticks’ and other splinting materials aren’t ideally available in all environments and waste time to make, but they can work well.
